# Setting up your first workspace

Your first workspace is created when you sign up. It is the boundary for members, settings, permissions, connections, and activity.

## Configure the workspace

Open **Workspace** under **Admin** in the sidebar. Workspace admins and the owner can:

- Set the workspace display name
- Upload or remove its logo
- Choose the timezone used to display dates and times

The workspace URL is generated when the workspace is created. Renaming the workspace does not change that URL.

## Invite the team

Open **Team** under **Admin**, then:

1. [Invite the people who need access](/docs/team-and-collaboration/inviting-team-members).
2. Assign the appropriate workspace role.
3. Review [roles and permissions](/docs/team-and-collaboration/understanding-roles-and-permissions) before granting administrative access.

Workspace roles control administration. The live MCP tool list is separately derived from the selected workspace and the signed-in person's current permissions.

## Protect sign-in

Ask each member to enable [two-factor authentication](/docs/account-and-billing/two-factor-authentication), especially workspace admins and the owner.

## Connect an AI client

Everyone uses the same public MCP URL:

```
https://connectorcentral.com/mcp
```

Choose the guide for [ChatGPT](/docs/connect-ai-clients/chatgpt), [Claude](/docs/connect-ai-clients/claude), or [Microsoft Copilot](/docs/connect-ai-clients/microsoft-copilot). During OAuth, sign in, choose the intended workspace, review the requested access, and approve only if the details are correct.

## Check the connection

Ask the client:

> Which Connector Central workspace am I using?

Then open **Activity** under **Gateway**. The [activity log guide](/docs/connectors-and-access/activity-log) explains the metadata recorded for the request.
