# Your profile and security

Your profile settings are personal to your account and apply across all workspaces you belong to.

## Accessing your settings

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select **Settings**. Your settings are organized into four tabs — Profile, Preferences, Security, and Account.

## Profile

- **Name** — your display name, shown to teammates across your workspaces
- **Profile photo** — upload a photo that appears next to your name; you can remove it at any time

## Preferences

- **Email notifications** — toggle whether you receive email notifications for workspace activity

## Security

### Changing your password

1. Go to the **Security** tab in your settings
2. Enter your current password
3. Enter and confirm your new password
4. Click **Update password**

### Forgot your password?

If you can't remember your current password, sign out and use the **Forgot password?** link on the sign-in page. You'll receive an email with a link to set a new one.

### Two-factor authentication

The Security tab is also where you enable or disable 2FA — see [Two-factor authentication](/docs/account-and-billing/two-factor-authentication).

## Account

The **Account** tab lists the workspaces you own and the ones you're a member of, and lets you delete your account.

**Deleting your account is permanent.** It deletes every workspace you own — including its members, connections, settings, and activity history — and removes you from workspaces owned by others. To confirm, you'll need to enter your password and type your email address. If a workspace should outlive your account, [transfer ownership](/docs/team-and-collaboration/understanding-roles-and-permissions) to a teammate first.

## Workspaces vs. your account

Your **account** (profile, email, password) is separate from your **workspaces**. You can belong to multiple workspaces with the same account, and profile changes affect how you appear in all of them.

## Next steps

Add an extra layer of protection with [two-factor authentication](/docs/account-and-billing/two-factor-authentication).
